The PDP Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller now has a Switch and Switch 2 version

Turtle Beach released updated version PDP Riffmaster wireless guitar controller which works with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. For those unfamiliar, PDP previously released the same guitar on Xbox and PlayStation consoles – IGN really gave the PlayStation version a great review. Like those controllers, this one retails for $149.99.

The novel controller can stay connected up to 30 feet away from the Switch or Switch 2, and provides up to 36 hours of play on a single charge. (It can be charged via USB-C.) Like other versions of this controller, it is foldable and ships with a shoulder strap. The Riffmaster has an analog stick, a string stick, a whammy stick and 10 buttons on the fingerboard – five on the top of the neck and five more near the body to enable all those diseased shreds you’ll be doing. The grille – this is the part where the strum and whammy sticks are located – also contains the home button, the plus and minus buttons, the capture button and the directional pad. Unfortunately, there is no GameChat button.

But wait, where are you going to do all this destruction? Yes, if you weren’t aware of it Fortnite Festivalit’s basically a Rock band indoor mode Fortnitecreated by the folks at Epic’s Harmonix, the people behind these classic rhythm games. However, as IGN’s review showed, the game did not reach the level of these hallowed titles at launch.

Turtle Beach isn’t the only company releasing guitar-shaped controllers lately. CRKD also released a pair of officially licensed Gibson Les Paul controllers, which IGN’s Jacqueline Thomas thought were great, partly because they tweaked the formula a bit by adding features like thigh strap touch controls and mechanical buttons, at least on the Pro version. Besides, it’s a cheaper controller, starting at $114.99 for the cross-platform (read: Switch-compatible) Encore Edition.

The PDP Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller for Switch and Switch 2 is now available on the Turtle Beach website or at Amazon for $149.99.
