In celebration of Palworld’s first anniversary in Early Access, developer Pocketpair has released a roadmap showing what to expect in future updates through 2025. What’s most invigorating are the up-to-date core features, including co-op crossplay, world transfers for Pals, and a World Tree ending scenario
Honestly, it’s less of a roadmap and more of a to-do list, as there’s no timeline to include the list of features and content that Pocketpair outlines. We have no idea when to expect crossplay, for example. Still, it’s great to see the team focusing on a few key elements of the game.
Palworld’s future roadmap includes:
- Co-op crossplay
- Worldwide transfers for buddies
- World Tree/End Scenario
- Further ways to strengthen and improve Pals
- Various up-to-date content such as up-to-date friends and technologies
- Collaboration on games (including Terraria)
- Improvements to the placement of objects in the world
- Improvements to basic Pals
- Optimization improvements
- UX improvements
In addition to the game’s roadmap, Pocketpair also celebrated its first anniversary by uploading the game’s soundtrack to YouTube, which includes 28 songs.
Palworld is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and since September last year on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. In December, a major up-to-date update for the game was released, which added a completely up-to-date island region for players to discover.
Palworld was a huge success, with its meme-worthy mix of Pokémon-like monsters, base-building, crafting, and weapons proving an instant hit last January. However, this success aroused many emotions. In September, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced a lawsuit against the third-party developer, allegedly for violating a recently acquired patent for catching and summoning monsters in battle. Pocketpair promised to fight the lawsuitand it seems like the Nintendo case may be a bit rocky and uncertain… though we don’t really know how the Japanese courts view the matter.
