The Nintendo Switch 2 is “out of the box” and could be cheaper than the PS5 or Xbox Series X

We are all waiting for the first official look at Nintendo Switch2and one lucky person says they’ve had some time with it in recent months. Blade Accessories CEO Ruben Mercado reveals in a fresh interview that the upcoming handheld is ready for launch, as well as providing insight into the console’s hardware and price.

Magnetic rails were also mentioned in a recent leak of the console’s hardware upgrades – which are apparently significant – along with a preliminary look at the Nintendo Switch 2 in what appeared to be an early CAD render. With many handheld devices, such as the best Steam Deck alternatives, offering detachable magnetic controllers, it’s not too surprising that Nintendo is following suit.

The Nintendo Switch 2 costs on average around $299.99 / £249.99 and $349.99 / £299.99 for the standard and OLED models respectively. For comparison, the Xbox Series S is also often available for $299.99/£249.99, while higher-end consoles like the Xbox Series X and standard PlayStation 5 usually cost $499/£489.99.

We’re curious if it can directly compete with attractive handhelds like the previously mentioned Steam Deck, at least in terms of price, which can be had for as little as $349.99/£349.99. Your move, Nintendo.
