Hell Divers 2 fans are cheerful with the game after the 60-day update. Every buff and change feels solid. However, the massive gameplay improvements have made the frustrations with one item in the latest Warbond seem bigger than they actually are.
Chemical Agents Warbond was released in Hell Divers 2 a few days into the game’s 60-day update. It brought with it a whole bunch of chemical weapons-themed items, like armor that looks like a hazmat suit, toxic gas-based Stratagems, and a healing sidearm called the Stim Pistol. But that last item, which should support players in their time of need, has become a subtle source of frustration in the community. What should be a lifesaver is definitely a meme at this point.
Stimulants only work when they hit
The Stim Pistol will provide the Helldiver with enough healing to survive the next hit. Provided the next hit isn’t a chasing Charger or a poorly placed Eagle 500KG bomb. However, the healing the Helldiver tries to give his teammates won’t work at all if they don’t manage to get their shot off, and that’s the hardest thing to do with this sidearm.
The problem is that you can’t fire the Stim Pistol. You can be in first person, aiming down sights, and have a Helldiver running at you, but you’ll still miss. You can definitely fire a shot, because I’ve seen players on post-mission screens that are covered in darts, but I have no idea how those darts hit the target.
If you bought Warbond and are trying it yourself, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you’re waiting to buy it later, just take a look at it Hell Divers 2 subreddit to understand what is happening.
This Hell Divers 2 the community isn’t concerned about the Stim Pistols issues though. If this had happened before the 60-day update, it could have been the final straw. With so many improvements that make the game as enjoyable as it was when it was released, the Stim Pistol’s inaccuracy takes a back seat.
I have no doubt that developer Arrowhead Game Studios will fix the Stim Pistol in a future update. But no one cares about that right now. We’ve been spoiled with flawless gameplay, a novel Warbond, and even some fantastic Superstore items. The game is in a great place at the time of writing, and you can see that in the community’s reaction to the weapon’s inaccuracy now compared to what it would have been just a week ago.
