New trailer for the HBO series The last of us Season 2 hints at even more intense and traumatic events to come. New threats – both human and in the form of the cordyceps virus zombie – will upend Joel and Ellie’s relatively peaceful existence in Jackson, Wyoming – but how far will the show go in adapting the events of The Last of Us, Part 2video game from Naughty Dog, remains to be seen. Just in case, viewers can book a session with their own therapist before the show’s 2025 finale.
In addition to a broader look at Catherine O’Hara as Joel’s confidante, we also see adult Ellie and her partner Dina; a miniature announcement of the modern antagonist Abby; and the ominous feeling that Jeffrey Wright is reprising his role as Isaac from the video game.
The second season’s cast includes returning stars: Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy and Rutina Wesley as Maria. New to the cast are Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac and Catherine O’Hara.
The last of us Season 2 will premiere on HBO in 2025 and will be streamed on Max.
