Weaver’s casting is massive news for two reasons. The most obvious is that she’s so talented, given her incredible filmography and ability to turn almost any role into an icon. The second reason is that this is the first official casting news The Mandalorian and GroguEven Pedro Pascal, who plays The Mandalorian in the Disney+ series, has not confirmed his return, although it seems foregone conclusion. So far, Weaver and director Jon Favreau are the only two people we know for sure are involved. Hopefully, as we get closer to filming, more casting news will emerge, including possible returns of numerous cameos from the series that have graced the show before — like Ashoka and Bo-Katan.
