The inventive RPG Fantasian Neo Dimension from the creator of Final Fantasy hits PC today

Published:

Developed by Mistwalker, the studio founded by Final Fantasy daddy Hironobu Sakaguchi, Fantasian was originally released on Apple Arcade in 2021 and caged in the exclusivity of the massive fruit. But now Mistwalker and Square Enix have teamed up to re-release the RPG for us PC folks, calling it Fantasian Neo Dimension. If you are interested in an interdimensional journey to recover lost memories, it is also available today.

In Fantasian Neo Dimension you will play as Leo, who wakes up in a strange land full of machines and has no memory of how, why or who. He soon discovers that the machines are suffering from a virus called “Mechteria”, which is actually not good for either humans or robots. So it’s up to you and your friends to take part in turn-based battles and rid the world of the virus.

An intriguing idea for turn-based combat in Fantasian is that you can target multiple enemies, either in a straight line, in an arc, or in immense area bursts. You can also “collect” random encounters as you explore the world, so you can fight them all at once for massive cash whenever it suits you – which is a great time saver.

And things are pretty nice on the world front, eh? It combines handmade dioramas with computer graphics, giving exploration a striking aesthetic.

If you’re a longtime fan who knows all this stuff and wants to know the details of the fresh features, I’ve got you. There are fresh Japanese and English voice-overs, fresh difficulty options, 4K resolution, and the option to switch battle music from the original soundtrack to songs from the entire Final Fantasy series.

You can find the end of the game Couple.
