The history of Blizzard and a team of franchise programmers votes for relationships

Blizzard’s Story and Franchise Development Team (SFD) voted in favor of union with Communications Workers of America, According to a press release Shared today.

SFD consists of Blizzard employees producing internal kinematics, animation, trailers, promotional films, film interludes in the game and other narrative content in the Blizzard series, in addition to archival employees and historians.

These employees join thousands of others in Microsoft, specifically at Activision Blizzard, who voted for relationships with departments and teams on the basis of a Microsoft Labor Party agreement over the past few years. Last year, the entire World of Warcraft team rose and Overwatch developers followed last May. Other relationships in the company are Raven software employees who just won their first contract at the beginning of this month, Zenimax QA employees who got a contract in May, Bethesda Union and several others.

“After more than a decade of working in Blizzard, I saw all the ups and downs,” said a member of the Organizational Committee and the Chief Editor Bucky Fisk. “Over the years, Blizzard was a place where people could build their career and stay for decades, but this stability has disappeared. Thanks to the relationship we are able to keep what makes this place unique, safe real transparency in making decisions, and make sure that the rules are used for everyone.”
