Baylan Skoll, a nihilistic Jedi who turned to the Dark Side IN Ahsoka season 1was officially recast following the death of original actor Ray Stevenson in 2023. Rory McCann, who played the Hound in Game of Throneswill step into this role in the show’s second season Star Wars show.

News about the casting decision comes via email InSneider (By Hollywood reporter). Stevenson was the highlight of the show’s first season, portraying a noble but twisted former Jedi warrior turned Sith mercenary after surviving Order 66, the directive that killed most of the rest of the Jedi order in the prequel trilogy. He clashes with Ahsoka in search of a map that would lead him to the exiled Grand Admiral Thrawn, while providing a dignified and charismatic foil for her principles and worldviews.

Unfortunately, Stevenson died of an illness just before the first season aired, leaving questions about who would play a key role in Season 2. McCann, who became one of Game of Thronesemotional underpinnings throughout eight seasons of the hit HBO series, it seems like a natural choice to step into the role of a conflicted hero. After all, he spent most of his time as the Hound being a noble-hearted asshole who was straightforward to root for even when he was being terrible.

It is unclear when McCann, who recently emerged as head of the Praetorian Guard, in Gladiator 2will join the rest of the cast in the second shooting season. The series schedule has not been confirmed yet, but is planned Star Wars movies and TV series continue to face delays, cancellations and changes to plans. Andor is another series from the Star Wars series that will be available on Disney+ for its second and final season in April. Cadre also recently finished a pretty good first season. Apart from that, however, the rest of the upcoming ones Star Wars the program board remains a secret.
