- Silver Palace has broken radio silence with the release of an upcoming closed beta
- Registration is now open for this Dieselpunk-inspired detective ARPG
- Explore Silvernia, fight gloomy forces and enjoy a familiar anime-style atmosphere
Ho-hum, another recent ARPG. It’s stimulating, I guess, but what exactly does it have to offer that others don’t? Oh, what is this? Yes, it’s the Silver Palace! An upcoming Dieselpunk-style ARPG that might have enough cleverness and recent ideas to break me out of my stupor. Best of all, Silver Palace’s first beta test has finally opened registration!
You may remember us discussing Silver Palace and its pre-registration period back in May this year. And although a lot of time has passed since then, the first closed beta has finally been confirmed and registration is now open on the official website.
Silver Palace is unashamedly set in a fantasy version of the 1920s and 1930s. You play as a detective in Silvernia, trying to solve a series of mysteries centered around the control of a powerful resource called Silverium. Not very subtle, but taking on crime syndicates and corrupt corporations is classic detective fiction.
Mysterious
But it’s not about trench coats and foggy streets. What immediately captivated me about Silver Palace was its distinctive style. Yes, it’s still very anime-style at its core, but the city, the technology, and even the characters’ outfits fit into a niche period rarely seen anywhere.
While productions such as Zenless Zone Zero and Ananta have already distinguished themselves by exploring a more renowned contemporary city, Silver Palace chooses a fourth option between contemporary, fantasy and science-fiction.
With a great city to explore, intriguing character looks, and a potentially quite intriguing story, it’s worth signing up for this closed beta while you have the chance.
