Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been out for a while now, which gives me a lot of credit for the multiplayer. Still, it’s a matter of ongoing development, and Activision has announced the game’s first seasonal release. This is a long article with a lot of extras, so I’ll try my best to break down the good stuff. TLDR: there are some modern multiplayer and zombie maps, modern modes, and some additional features. I’m a little excited, I want more. More is good in this case.
The first season of Black Ops 6 starts on November 14 and will bring the usual assortment of stuff. Some weapons, many of which will likely meta almost immediately. One of them is an electric drill that I want immediately, but I can’t unlock it. There are also modern Operators, one of whom looks like the Haze guy from that PS3 game.
In fact, the most critical attraction are the modern maps. A safehouse that is a training ground where “intense indoor combat” takes place, which looks good? The Heirloom is the most intriguing, being a private art gallery filled with lots of pretty sculptures and sparkling lobbies you can enter. Hacienda arrives mid-season, the vineyard estate returns from Black Ops 4 and is sure to please fans of a game I may not really remember.
With the launch comes a modern game mode called Ransack, where you must loot gold bars from chests scattered around the maps and then successfully bring them back to your team’s stash. It’s all about collecting, raiding and stealing – honestly, it sounds fun.
A modern series of results caught my attention, namely the immense hand cannon. Get 900 points in a single life and you’ll “equip yourself with a powerful hand cannon for a limited time.” It will have “high penetration arrows that can single-shot enemies,” kind of like the Golden Pistol from the Hunter class in Destiny 2, eh?
There will be a modern directed mode in Zombies, which I will 100% exploit. Enable this option and zombie targets will be clearly marked with a maximum round limit of 15, making it an easy-to-follow story. I’m also looking forward to the modern map, an “abandoned castle” with promises of a “medieval village”.
Elsewhere, there’s a modern ranked mode for those who take their responsibilities very seriously, and the introduction of Blops 6’s omni-movement and weapons to Warzone.
