As with many other loot-based games, First offspring has experienced its fair share of endless loot locations. Whether intentional or not, the developer is now taking steps to fix one of those locations, but it’s choosing to do so in the best way possible.
The fix will buff all other farms, not nerf the infinite one.
Recently discovered loot collection spot in First offspring is capable of producing an unlimited amount of loot. Dubbed by the community as “The Valby Run,” this strategic outpost in the fortress can spawn hostile mobs indefinitely. As a result, it is capable of dropping items at a rate that is about 2-3 times higher than other locations, according to developer.
Since this was completely unintentional, and since we’re so used to it in other loot-based games, everyone expected it to be fixed sooner rather than later. Instead, director Minseok Joo announced patch 1.0.4. Instead of removing the incredibly high loot yield in this mission, all other Strategic Outpost locations will now match the yield.
The First Descendant 1.0.4 Patch Notes
While the developer originally stated that no additional patch would be needed next week, they will instead deploy a patch titled Patch 1.0.4. It will include the following:
- Reduce the cooldown of the Vulgus Strategic Outpost
- Balance Void Fragment gathering locations
- Upgrade other farming locations to equal Fortress Outpost output
Too often we see game developers nerfing everything that is fun and proficient to prevent players from progressing faster than they intended. The result is a scarce “buff-everything-other” method used by game developers First offspring are taken into account, are highly appreciated.
