We have good news for you to start the weekend well: Antonblast Is already profitableaccording to director Tony Grayson.
“In less than a month, ANTONBLAST has recouped ALL development, marketing and production expenses! WE ARE PROFITABLE!” said Grayson, who also serves as studio head Antonblast developer Summitsphere. “It looks like Summitsphere will be making a lot more games for a much longer time. Thank you all!”
Antonblast is an energetic platformer reminiscent of the Wario Land series that has been highly anticipated for years and was met with great acclaim when it launched on Switch and PC last month. In his review for Polygon, gaming correspondent Michael McWhertor praised the game Antonblast“barely controlled chaos” and a focus on “platform precision.”
Polygon reached out to Grayson about what’s next for Summitsphere, and he was open about giving back Antonblast fans more of what they want.
“We will always be interested in pursuing more of Anton’s projects,” Grayson told Polygon via email. “We’ve been incredibly lucky to have an audience that loves this world and its characters, and I’m sure we’d be crazy if we didn’t get it right. That said, we have a lot more ideas in the bag beyond Anton… so maybe people will be surprised to see what we come up with next.”
