IN Uncle Chop’s racket shopYou play as an unfortunate fox who starts working at an interstellar gas station. You have received no training and must learn to diagnose and repair various modules on spaceships based solely on what you can learn from the extensive manual. You only have a few days to accumulate enough RENT to survive your employer’s wrath. It’s not effortless if you phony it until you make it.
There is a roguelite-style gameplay format where you repeat days until you finally succeed. I don’t remember exactly, but largely the only thing you take with you on a fresh run is knowledge. When it comes to repair and diagnostics, you need to expand your knowledge and skills. You need to learn about the different modules of your ship to ensure that you can repair them with maximum efficiency. Only then will you survive the work week.
The main advantage is that each repair contains many tactile elements. You have to turn the crank, remove the parts, disassemble and reassemble. It’s just so satisfying. Absolute brain candy. The whole thing is enriched with a brutally jocular story. Really gloomy stuff. I really lean towards the “comedy is tragedy from a far enough distance” mentality.
