The creator of the witch claims that it was “completely unnecessary” for “video games” to broaden one sentence about the schools of witches that he never wrote

Andrezj Sapkowski, the creator of The Witcher, said he regrets, including a reference to “Witcher school” in one of his books, which since then the CD Projekt’s Games games have expanded significantly.

Writing in questions and answers RedditSapkowski said that his single mention of “School of the Wolf” in his last wish, a collection of stories, was a “unworthy” switch on which he is now considering removing from future printed series of books.

But for many fans of the witch who know the franchise from the existing Video Games Trilogy, Witcher schools are currently an significant part of the series – and something that CD Projekt developed into a key part of their knowledge.

CD Projekt determined that there are at least seven schools similar to the guild: a wolf (to which the heroine Geralt belongs), Kota, Griffin, Bear, Viper, Manticore and Crane. People at each school wear a medallion showing them as such-and indeed, the first trailer of the studio for Witcher 4 caused huge speculation among fans, focusing on the up-to-date school medallion, which later confirmed CD Projekt, concerned the earlier Lynx school.

But while video game fans liked the Serial Sorting of the Witcher in Hogwarts similar, you can safely say that Sapkowski is not on board.

“One sentence about some” School of the Wolf “mysteriously went to the last wish,” wrote Sapkowski. “Later I found it unworthy of development and narratively incorrect, even harmful to the story. Therefore, later I never took into account or refer to any witches Gryffindors or Slytherins. Never again.

“However, one sentence was sufficient. Adapters, especially people from video games, clung to this idea with extraordinary perseverance and wonderfully multiplied these” witch schools “. Completely unnecessary. “

Sapkowski still said that he just wanted to remove the reference to the School of the Wolf, removing it from his own Canon book, even if the knowledge invented by CD Projekt will still remain. Alternatively, the author suggested that he could develop the matter in the future work – something that fans suggested that he can do to deliberately limit the concept closer to his personal vision.

“I’m still not sure what to do with this situation,” Sapkowski summed up. “Perhaps, following the path of the slightest resistance, I erase the sentence about the” school “from the future editions of the last greeting.

“Maybe I will want to somehow expand and explain the matter in the next books? Perhaps I will shed some light on the issue of Witcher’s medallions, their meanings and their relationship with specific people? There are many possibilities, and the sky is the border.”

Sapkowski’s comments appear with the arrival of his latest witch novel, Crossroad of Ravens, in English almost a year after the debut in Poland. CrossRoad of Ravens is a up-to-date independent prequel novel in Saga Witcher, which takes place decades before games and the main saga of the novel. He follows teenage Geralt Rivia freshly with Kaer Morhen and his early steps as a sorcerer.

Meanwhile, the 4 witch season, premiere at Netflix on October 30. Liam Hemsworth recently told about the transformation of Henry Cavilla as Geralt, granting an online reaction forced him to social media and the Internet.
