There’s tons of content Waframe from 1999 update, but its biggest novel mode is undoubtedly the PvPvE Faceoff mode. However, this mode has met with mixed reception in Warframes community.
Before we dive into what’s going on, take a look at all the novel modes added, whether it’s worth running Faceoff to gain reputation in the Conclave, and how to start dating. Read on to find out everything you need to know about what people think about the novel Faceoff mode Warframes.
What’s going on with Faceoff in Warframe
Usually, Warframes players are really appreciating the novel way to gain reputation in Conclave, and the PvPvE approach with Faceoff seems to be a better fit for many Warframes than the game’s now-dead set of PvP modes, but that doesn’t mean the current state of Faceoff is perfect.
Players have various issues with Faceoff, but some are likely bugs or simply unintentional, rather than a design that needs improvement. This includes the biggest issue with Faceoff right now: the health and overall durability of Kill mobs. In miniature, they are too squishy.
Another similar problem is choosing partners. Currently, queuing for the mode can take some time, and each match begins with a wait of up to several minutes for it to start. Additionally, the mode is currently plagued with disconnections, host migrations, and other issues of this nature.
That said, there are plenty of other issues players have with Faceoff that aren’t obvious bugs or unintended interactions. Here are some of the most common complaints:
- Too much RNG for competitive mode: some objectives require you to randomly drop items from enemies or gather enough enemies to spawn nearby, which makes for a very unfair feeling when these things don’t go your way but they do it for the other team .
- Conclave’s constant rewards for playing Faceoff are way too low. Missions for other syndicates can give you 9,000 reputation points or more in a single match, capped at 3,000 reputation points. Besides, you will only receive 1500 reputation points if you fail to win, which is not always guaranteed.
- Disconnecting the other team means you’ll receive inferior rewards for completing the mission – the same rewards you’ll receive for playing Team vs. AI Faceoff. If you play Faceoff for reputation, this means you will not receive any reputation for completing the mission.
This isn’t a complete list of all the problems people have with Faceoff, but we’ve listed some of the biggest ones right now. While many complaints have been written, many also offer their opinion on how Digital Extremes can improve the overall Faceoff experience.
How Faceoff in Warframe Can Be Much Better
After adjusting the defense of the Assassination mobs and making some improvements to the matchmaking, players still have plenty of ideas for improving the Melee itself:
- Mirror spawns, enemy modifiers and objective locations for both teams. This will prevent matches from being one-sided where one team is blessed with good RNG and the other is not, forcing one team to lose while the other wins – assuming the losers don’t quit.
- Increase constant rewards by at least 50-100% to keep pace with constant rewards from other syndicate missions. Even 3,000 for a loss and 6,000 for a win wouldn’t be a particularly huge amount to earn in one match when it comes to Warframes missions.
- If a team disconnects or leaves the game, allow the remaining team to earn the same rewards they would have received initially. This means that instead of your team being penalized for staying in the match, they will be rewarded with a free win instead of wasting time.
Others suggest making the buffs and debuffs you can find more relevant, making the objective metrics clearer and better explaining how all of the mode’s different mechanics work in the game. But it’s still early days for 1999 update, so many are still gathering their thoughts.
It seems inevitable that Digital Extremes will make changes to the mode when developers return from their Christmas vacation, but it remains to be seen what exactly will change. We’ll all have to wait and see for that. For now, however, you can hold off on grinding.
