As announced by Kalypso Media, ahead of the game’s release later this year, the Commandos: Origins demo was released today on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The demo itself has its own exclusive mission that won’t be in the main version of Commandos: Origins. Instead, this mission is designed to give you a taste of what to expect from the full game.

In the Commandos: Origins demo, players take on the role of a Green Beret and a Marine, and their mission is to destroy a German radar station on the Channel Islands. In the full version of Commandos: Origins you will be able to play six characters: Sniper, Driver, Sapper, Spy, as well as the aforementioned Green Beret and Marine. Missions will give players multiple opportunities to complete them and achieve their goals, so exploring the environment will be the key to success. This will allow players to plan different approaches and have a plan B in case plan A fails. The full version will also include 10 missions set against the backdrop of World War II, which will take players to various theaters of war, including Africa and the Arctic. There will also be two-player co-op, both locally and online, so people can complete missions together.
Set before the original games in the series, Commandos: Origins clearly promises to tell the origin stories of the Commandos and how they came together during their first missions. The original Pyro studio is long gone, but the IP’s current owner, Kalypso Media, previously commissioned Raylight Games to make HD remasters. They partnered with Claymore Game Studios to create this fresh entry in the game – which is actually a reboot of the series. The game will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. The game will also be available on day one as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription.
