The best weapon from the Elden Ring DLC

Published:

There is no shortage Elden Ring DLC Weapon. FromSoftware has added over 100 novel weapons to Shadow of the Erdtree, ranging from quirky little whips to swords with spectacular abilities and a particularly powerful wizard staff that can only be obtained by completing an easily skippable side quest. The balance of weapon types is not exactly equal. In Shadow of the Erdtree, faith and dexterity-based builds have the most freedom of choice, but there is something unique and fun for each Elden Ring build.

We’ve put together a list of the best Elden Ring weapons across every stat category, including magic, as well as where to get them and why they’re so good.

Best Elden Ring DLC Weapon

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: The ultimate force weapon

  • Great Sword of Solitude – Defeat the Blackgaol Knight
  • Devonia’s Hammer – Defeat Devonia, the Crucible Knight near Miquella’s Cross in the Ruins of Rauh
  • Blood Fiend Arm – Dropped by Blood Fiend enemies, common in Prospect Town and Rauh Ruins
  • Decaying Cleaver – Replace Memory of the Rotten Knight
  • Ancient Meteorite Ore Greatsword – Complete the Starfall Past Ruined Forge
  • Radahn Greatsword (Lord) – Miquella’s Memories Exchange

I played almost all of the DLC except for the final fight against the Great Sword of Solitude thanks to the unique Ash of War, which fires an arc of moonlight followed by a powerful slash. Get this off the Blackgaol Knight as quickly as possible. Devonia’s Hammer makes up for the long animation time of its abilities by the fact that it actually reaches further than five inches, unlike the cold but circumscribed Anvil Hammer, while the Bloody Fiend’s Arm infused with bleeding War Ash has a whopping 200+ blood loss rate.

The Putrescence Cleaver ability is powerful and has a wide range, while the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword hits as strenuous as it is huge – meaning it is really mighty. The Light Charge ability is brisk, making it a good balance for the weapon’s size, and at higher levels it even deals magic damage.

Finally, there is Radahn’s sword. Both are solid choices for building strength, but the Lord version’s ability – Promised Consort – allows you to add holy pillars of featherlight to each slash in a fantastic combo similar to the one Radahn used against you.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: The Ultimate Arcade Weapon

  • Great Katana Rakshasha – Won in the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum
  • Beast Claws – Obtained after defeating Logur on the Graveyard Plain
  • Obsidian Plaque – obtained at the end of Ansbach’s quest
  • Dragon Hunter’s Great Katana – Obtained after defeating the boss in the Dragon Pit
  • Sword of Night – received from Jolan after giving her the Iris of Occultism

The agility characters eat so well in Shadow of the Erdtree that it’s strenuous to pick just a few. I’m a huge fan of the Rakshasha Katana’s weed-cutting abilities, but if you exploit this weapon, make sure NO put on your armor. Each piece of the set increases the amount of damage you take, so why not make your life harder. Beast Claws are a brutal, highly effective – and fun – variation of hookclaws, and Red Bear’s Claws are a good substitute if you want to be, well, a bear.

Obsidian Lamina has a mighty built-in ability, good range, and decent blood loss stacking, and Night Sword has a double magic damage bonus and provides a fantastically stylish ability that makes up for the slightly lower damage scaling.

Also note that the Dragon Hunter’s Great Katana is still useful outside of Jagged Peak. It’s very good at damaging dragons, as you might expect from the name, but it also has high damage scaling overall.

Elden Ring DLC: Weapons of the Best Faith

  • Sword of Light and Sword of Darkness – Transform the Sword into a Stone Sheath
  • Euporia – Found in Enir-Ilim
  • Great Sword of Damnation – Exchange of Memories of Midra
  • Lightning Perfume Bottles – North Cerulean Coast
  • Shadow Sunflower Flower – Name the Shadow Sunflower memory

There’s no shortage of weapons of faith to experiment with, and most of them are actually quite good. Greatsword of Damnation just sounds cold, and Ash of War is built-in fantasticbecause it either deals a lot of damage to a target in front of you or sends spikes in a circle around you. Euporia allows you to charge and fire a vortex of holy featherlight, and the Sword of Light or Sword of Darkness are imperative to any holy build. Their abilities escalate your holy power or reduce the enemy’s holy resistance.

Shadow Sunflower Blossom works great if you’re running a strength and faith based build, with a good mix of physical and holy damage, and a powerful ability. Finally, there’s Lightning Perfume Bottle, one of the best choices for the Perfumer build and an uncomplicated way to deal a lot of damage quickly if you have Ash of War’s Rolling Spark.

Elden Ring DLC: The Ultimate Intelligence Weapon

  • Mother’s Staff – Dropped by the Mother of Fingers during Count Ymir’s quest
  • Bottles of blood-curdling perfume – found in the Lamenters’ Prison in Charo’s Hidden Tomb
  • Rellana’s Twin Blade – Trade Rellana’s Memory to receive it
  • The Velvet Sword of St. Trina – Found in a Crack in a Stone Coffin

Shadow of the Erdtree makes up for the overabundance of Intelligence weapons in the base game by adding very few, and most of the ones in the DLC have Faith or Dexterity requirements that scale more effectively. There are a few good Intelligence weapons, though. Chilling Perfume Bottles make applying Frostbite – an ailment that almost every boss is susceptible to – uncomplicated, while Rellana’s Twinblades deal high magic damage and have two abilities that stun enemies. Velvet Sword of St Trin puts enemies to sleep properly instead of just stunning them like the senior sleep weapons did, and Maternal Staff has some of the highest spell scaling in the game.

Elden Ring DLC: The ultimate arcane weapon

  • Dryleaf Arts – Defeat Dryleaf Dane in Moorth Ruins
  • Dryleaf Footwork – Defeat Dane in Enir-Ilim
  • Poleblade of the Bud – Romina’s Memories Exchange
  • Flowerstone Hammer – Obtained from Florissax after defeating Bayle

We’re putting both Dryleaf weapons in the Arcane category because they have higher Arcane scaling at higher ranks, while Dexterity and Strength remain quite low. They’re brisk, fun and uncomplicated to exploit, and you can infuse them with some pretty cold Ashes of War. Romina’s Blade is mentioned as one of the few weapons that actively creates Crimson Rot, an affliction that is often used against you, but we rarely get the opportunity to exploit it instead.

Data’s Flowerbed ability is very helpful when building lightning, as the red lightning it emits reduces the lightning resistance of enemies it hits.

Elden Ring DLC: Best Weird Weapons

  • Tooth Whip – Found in Bonny Village
  • Rabbath’s Cannon – Found on Rabbath’s Rise
  • Forked Tongue Ax – Randomly obtained in the Catacombs of the Mist
  • Bonny Butcher Knife – Found in Bonny Village
  • Poisoned Hand – Found in the sewers of Belurat Tower
  • Madding Hand – near the Woodland Trail Place of Grace in the Abyssal Forest
  • Thiollier’s Hidden Needle – Obtained after completing Thiollier’s quest

Tooth Whip and Hands are nasty and weird, but they’re a surprisingly good source of poison (and madness, in the case of Madding Hand). Rabbath’s Cannon is fun because who wouldn’t want a hand cannon, and the Bonny Butchering Knife is downright terrifying. Bonny Village tycoons exploit them, probably in a slaughterhouse, and the leftovers probably end up in jars. If this doesn’t scare you, visit Bonny Gaol or Belurat Gaol and also remember all those tycoon cookbooks with recipes for the liver and other body parts.

Thiollier’s Needle is odd in the sense that you’d think a quest weapon would scale better. It deals low damage, but is one of the easiest ways to spread eternal sleep across the battlefield – a curiously underrated ailment despite its importance to the story.

Besides, an axe that looks like a lizard’s tongue? Sure, why not.
