Jolan’s Night Sword
Jolan’s summoned version is just as deadly as the real thing. She’s quick and challenging hitting, and her attacks cause bleeding. This is still useful in most cases, but even more so if you’re using a bleed build. These two attacks together will boost the target’s bleeding meter much faster than normal and cause a lot of damage.
After completing Count Ymir’s quest, give Jolan the Iris of Grace to receive this summons.
Puppets Jolan and Anna
What’s better than Jolan’s summon? Another Jolan summon! Swordhand of Night is paired with another Swordhand of Night wielded by Count Ymir’s puppet, Anna, and the duo puts a lot of pressure on almost every enemy. Their attacks cause bleed, which almost every enemy in Shadow of the Erdtree is susceptible to, and the fact that there are two of them means you’ll rarely be targeted by an enemy.
You need Jolan’s summon for this. Go to the top of Rabbath’s Rise and interact with Anna’s puppet to receive this summon.
Taylew, the golem blacksmith
Taylew is one of those substantial guys from the broken forges, and he fights just like them. Taylew’s punches are almost guaranteed to stagger opponents, and like his undead counterparts, he can take multiple hits before he feels anything.
You can find this one in Taylew’s Ruined Forge, where you can also get some frosty smithscript weapons.
Young Half-Human Swordsman
Yosh is the Elden Ring equivalent of Attack of the Clones’ Yoda. This little guy just keeps jumping and slashing at enemies, and despite his diminutive size, he packs quite a punch. The repeated attacks will likely stagger enemies and leave them vulnerable to your weighty attacks or spells, and he’s actually just fun to watch.

You can get Yosh by defeating the boss in Belurat Gaol. It’s a pretty nasty place, so take this as a warning if you’re squeamish.
Fire Knight Queelign
Queelign works the same way as he does in combat with you, meaning he’s quick and never lets up. Considering most spirit summons take a while to get going and recover from an attack, this is a very good set of traits. His damage output may not be as good as Jolan and Anna’s, but his aggressive behavior makes up for it.
During Queeligna’s quest, give him the Iris of Grace to receive his summoning.
Ancient Dragon Florissax
Florissax uses her buff bolt on you the moment she enters the field, which is enough to recommend her, but she also throws a spear of red lightning at enemies and attacks with melee strikes. She is agile and dodges many attacks, and is also strong enough to absorb blows before disappearing. You’ll have to do a few steps in Thiollier’s quest to get the ashes, but it’s worth the extra effort.

The Inquisitor’s Ashes
Inquisitors may seem tender at first glance, much like the bow-wielding, holy-casting foes you fight in Gravesite Plain and Enir-Ilim, but don’t let the similarities fool you. One Inquisitor buffs their attacks, while the other heals you—multiple times. This isn’t a one-time fight like the Ash Support, and while they probably won’t outlast the likes of Consort Radahn, they’re useful in almost every other situation.
The Inquisitor’s ashes are found on the corpse shortly before reaching Spiral Rise Place of Grace in Enir-Ilim. This is pretty behind schedule in the game, but you’ll need them in The Lands Between or New Game+.
Ashes of Messmer soldiers
Ash Soldiers are usually pretty average, but these Messmers have an advantage over the rest. They don’t split off from each other, meaning they aren’t killed one by one before they can do anything useful. Their combined attacks often stun enemies, and the sheer force of several soldiers acting as one is enough to quickly exhaust most enemies.
Soldier Messmer’s ashes are found at a grave on the road to Cerulean Coast, near the lake with the thundersheep.
Divine Bird Warrior Ornis
Ornis has two major strengths. He uses holy-aligned attacks, which are ideal in catacombs and especially in Stone Coffin Fissure, and when he launches his special attack, enemy hits don’t interrupt him. He’s a great choice if you need a constant distraction that can deal damage while also tanking hits.
The summoning of Ornis is near ruins north of Temple Town Site of Grace.
