Earlier this year, I reviewed the GameSir G7 Pro controller and was very impressed. For $159, you’ll get a 2.4GHz wireless controller with all the usual “professional” extras – paddle buttons, modular D-pad, and micro-switches with face-to-face buttons – as well as other features that facilitate it beat out the competition, especially at this price point.
The most critical of these is perhaps TMR (or Tunneling Magnetoresistance) analog sticks, which are not only drift-free, but also potentially more precise and operate less power than other sticks made with stick technology. I’ll go into more detail in my review, but overall: they’re marginally better than Hall-effect analog sticks, which have been a go-to technology for several years for gamers who hate the drift-prone issues common on Sony and Xbox gamepads.
Anyway, Amazon’s Black Friday sale has just started and you can currently get it GameSir G7 Pro for $135: nice 15% discount. It’s not the steepest cut – and apparently only the white model is available – but if you’ve been meaning to get one, now’s the time to bite the bullet.
GameSir is also selling some of its older controllers low-cost through Amazon as part of Black Friday. Look GameSir Nova Lite for $38.25 (vs. $45), which our reviewer said is “considerably better than its very light weight” for a gamepad in this price range (and yes, it has Hall-effect sticks).
If you’re looking for something other than a gamepad, we’ve rounded up all the Black Friday PC gaming deals in Australia.
