The best Black Ops 6 guns to apply in the launch meta

Published:

If you are curious what best guns in Black Ops 6 are, you’ve come to the right place. During the game’s launch – perhaps better seen as the run-up to Season 1 – we looked at which guns destroy and which ones should be left in the armory to bring you a list of the eight best at the moment.

Fortunately, some of them are available very early, so you won’t have to grind much to start using the best weapons in the game. Black Ops 6.

From assault rifles and submachine guns to sniper rifles and shotguns, we’ve included at least one weapon from each primary weapon category. If you played in Call of Duty from the earlier game, some of them will be very familiar – and that’s because, as usual, many of these weapons are almost identical to earlier expansions, albeit under a different name.

Below is our top eight ranking best guns in Black Ops 6meta at startup.

The best guns in Black Ops 6 now they are:

  1. PDW Jackal (PM)
  2. AMES 85 (assault rifle)
  3. XM4 (assault rifle)
  4. AEK-973 (sniper rifle)
  5. So much for .22 (PM)
  6. LW3A1 Frostline (sniper rifle)
  7. Maritime SP (shotgun)
  8. XMG (LMG)

If you’ve played the beta, this list won’t seem too foreign as it was mostly dominated by weapons – PDW Jackal, AMES 85AND XM4 – these are still the three best weapons in the game Black Ops 6.

However, further down the list we have AEK-973 burst sniper rifle – which can drop enemies in one burst and has manageable recoil – and So much for .22 Submachine Gun – Which has a much slower rate of fire than you would expect from a submachine gun, but makes up for it in damage output.

The favorite LR 7.62 sniper rifle presented in the beta version has given way to the sniper rifle LW3A1 Frostlinebecause although both are automatic and the LR 7.62 does more damage, the LW3A1 has greater mobility and is suitable for speedy battles Black Ops 6 better, which means it’s better suited for shooting on the go than for setting up shop.

The Maritime SP shotgun is better than ASG-89 – pump action with one shot kill will always be at the top of the rankings – and XMG The LMG may not have the best mobility, but it makes up for it with suppressive fire capabilities, no recoil, and high damage.

Below you will find more information about each choice:

PDW Jackal in Black Ops 6

While PDW Jackal he became upset slightly since dominating the first weekend of the beta, it is still the strongest submachine gun and overall best weapon in the game.

Our top pick Jackal PDW is the setup you’ll want to apply with this rapid-fire SMG, as it will blow your enemies to pieces up close, and if you apply the attachments we recommend, you’ll be running and shooting without aiming down any sights. However, this is not the case unlocked until level 43 so you will have to wait a while before installing it.

In most cases, you want to apply a laser (a Steady Aim Laser or Fast Motion Laser will do the job) along with a CQB grip and stock. This will make the Jackal PDW an absolute machine up close. For the last two attachments, we recommend one of the two quick magazines, the Ranger foregrip, the low barrel if you have leveled the gun high enough, or the suppressor.

2. AMES 85 (assault rifle)

If you want to compete in the distance, there is no better shout than AMES 85 assault rifle, unlocked at level 19. It has very little recoil and packs a powerful punch, meaning you can easily take down enemies from a distance, though it doesn’t do very well up close, so we recommend shooting it in Overkill mode along with the Jackal PDW.

As for attachments, apply those that improve damage range, recoil, and aiming speed. A compensator or ported compensator, a reinforced or long barrel, a vertical or precision foregrip, a Quickdraw or Commando grip, and a hefty or combat stock should do the job. If you’re not a fan of iron sights, consider using an optical sight instead of one of these!

XM4 in Black Ops 6

When it comes to universal solutions, you can look no further than XM4. The XM4’s best loadouts are covered in a separate guide, but with this weapon you get a standard assault rifle that can do it all. Struggling in corridors and tight corners? Published behind cover? Running and shooting? The XM4 is your weapon, especially if you take this into account unlocks at level four.

It doesn’t really stand out in any way, but that means you’ll want to equip it to handle any situation. A decent optical sight is a must, so we recommend purchasing attachments to improve damage, range, and recoil control. A foregrip is vital, as is a long or reinforced barrel once you unlock them.

4. AEK-973 (sniper rifle)

The first modern addition to our list of the best weapons in Black Ops 6 over our beta picks is AEK-973. Unlocked at level 34can tear through enemies in one burst if you’re lucky, and reliably in two.

You’ll need to be able to aim, so focus on managing your recoil, but once you do, the AEK-973 is perfect for sluggish, tactical play and methodical movement around the map.

We recommend an additional compensator and a reinforced barrel to facilitate take out enemies from long range, as well as a vertical foregrip to deal with horizontal recoil. On the other hand, the Commando grip improves down aiming and accelerates sprinting to fire speed, giving you a bit more mobility.

An optical sight is necessary due to the weapon’s penniless iron sight, but the choice comes down to personal preference – we like the Accu-Spot Ultra Holo for its 3x zoom and unobstructed view.

Tanto .22 in Black Ops 6

The So much for .22 this is an compelling choice because even though it is a submachine gun, it fires incredibly slowly compared to most. However, it makes up for this disadvantage in terms of damage output, so while it’s not very good at close quarters and will be outperformed by any SMG with a higher fire rate, it’s a monster at slightly longer ranges. You can get your hands on it level 16.

It’s worth building on this by using a relocated compensator to manage recoil, and then trying to make the rest of your attachments enhance both recoil and mobility. Ranger Foregrip is a robust choice, as is Commando Grip and Balanced Stock. Ultimately, we decided on an optical sight, but any red dot or holographic sight will do the job.

6. LW3A1 Frostline (sniper rifle)

The replacement for our beta sniper rifle (LR 7.62) is LW3A1 Frostlineanother bolt-action sniper rifle that has slightly less firepower but greater mobility and handling. While this sniper can be set up to play slowly and shoot enemies from afar, it is better suited to a fast-aiming playstyle, especially since Black Ops 6 it’s a speedy paced shooter.

This is also the first sniper you get, so you’ll have him as soon as you arrive level four.

You need accessories that will further improve your mobility, so choose a mid-range scope – our recommendation is the Dobrych 4x – and a muzzle brake to facilitate control recoil and reset your target.

The low barrel, Commando lifter, and lightweight stock attachments augment mobility so you can aim down the sights faster, move faster, and retrieve your weapon faster from a sprint.

Marine SP in Black Ops 6

The Maritime SP The shotgun is rampant in the game’s smaller maps, such as those in the Face Off Moshpit playlist, due to the massive damage it can deal in a single shot. Make sure you’re moving and you’ll be able to one-shot enemies every time, as there’s no room for ranged combat on these maps.

Don’t worry about having to unlock Marine SP either, as it unlocks at level fourthat is, when custom equipment kits become available.

You’ll need a Combat or Speedloader Barrel, a Ranger Foregrip, a Balanced Stock, a Fixed Aim Laser, and a Rapid Fire Attachment to make it the best it can be. If you decide to apply this weapon on other maps, make sure to apply Overkill to equip another main character who can handle longer range fights.

XMG in Black Ops 6

Photo: Treyarch / Activision via Polygon

Finally we have it XMG. This is by far the best LMG in the game, meaning that while it’s not suitable for a run-and-gun style of play if you prefer to play slower and lay down storm XMG suppression fire is a beast.

It has the most firepower and the largest magazine size in its category, so when it comes to attachments, it’s worth making it a bit more mobile to be able to compete in as many situations as possible while maintaining control over the recoil. You will also unlock it earlier at level 13.

An vital thing to note with the XMG is that we do not recommend an optical sight because in our testing we found recoil to be most manageable with iron sights. However, we suggest using the Reinforced Barrel to augment damage range and the Hunter’s Forward Grip to manage horizontal recoil and slightly improve movement speed.

The Commando grip and balanced stock improve mobility, while recoil springs facilitate keep everything under control.

Finally, a distinction for our best C9 set. The MP5-inspired submachine gun isn’t worth including on this list, but it’s still very powerful with the right attachments and deserves your time once you exhaust the Jackal PDW.
