Fans Animal Crossing: New Horizons they probably know the boredom and joy of assembling your own aquarium and fishing season after season, but the fun doesn’t have to end with the game. Nintendo announced that the company will bring its own Animal Crossing: New Horizons aquarium on Monday, a tour around the country. The event began with Nintendo’s cooperation with the Seattle Aquarium, which brought specially themed Animal Crossing exhibits to the aquarium. In June Nintendo announced that it will expand the event and visit several locations across the United States.
The Animal Crossing: New Horizons The Aquarium Tour will visit a total of eight cities in the USA. It has a nice breakdown of events in several regions. Here are all the locations and dates for every aquarium that Nintendo has announced so far:
The official FAQ about the event describes the tour as “an aquarium-inspired experience Animal Crossing: New Horizons game.” Participating aquariums will host events “and more with an Animal Crossing twist.” However, if you want a better idea of what an official Animal Crossing aquarium might look like, it’s worth checking out the aquarium tour hosted by the Seattle Aquarium.
A TikTok video from user May showed what it was like to attend the event. The aquarium had a giant Animal Crossing themed backdrop for taking photos. Visitors can search the aquarium for cutouts of characters such as Isabelle and Tom Nook, and upon finding each character receive a stamp on the card. The aquarium exhibits include additional posters, courtesy of Blathers, who will learn more about the fish caught in the game. Plus, it looks like the Seattle Aquarium event also included some cute merchandise. If you want to see more, you can see full video below.
Overall, it doesn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary, but it doesn’t have to be. The aquarium is already really cool – even without Tom Nook – and it looks like this event could be the perfect excuse for an Animal Crossing fan to go and see some cool creatures and fish.
Update (November 21): This article has been updated to reflect new tour dates added to the event series.
