Samsung S90D is a previous generation model from 2024. A new model “S90F” has been released for 2025 but costs $1,200 more than this offer. The S90D features Samsung’s patented Quantum Dot (QD) OLED panel. QD OLED TVs are brighter and have a wider color gamut than traditional W-OLED TVs. They offer improved picture quality compared to non-OLED TVs thanks to near-instant response times, near-infinite contrast ratios, and the ability to create true blacks.

OLED technology aside, the Samsung S90D also has all the features you’d expect from a gaming TV. It has a native 120Hz panel that can be boosted to 144Hz, and four HDMI 2.1 ports for running 4K games at 120 frames per second on PlayStation 5. The S90D also supports variable refresh rate and automatic low-latency mode.

Is this a good TV for Nintendo Switch 2?

Even though the Nintendo Switch 2 is a current-generation console, it has low TV requirements compared to the PS5 or Xbox Series X. When the Switch is connected to a dock and a TV, it can only output a 4K signal at up to 60 frames per second. It can go up to 120fps if the resolution drops to 1080p, but the data rate required for both options is almost the same. Oddly enough, there isn’t even a VRR feature when docked – that’s reserved for portable mode only. However, the Switch 2 console will still benefit greatly from Samsung’s gorgeous OLED panel.
