Tales Of Graces f Remastered coming to PC for the first time, with up-to-date quality of life updates

Published:

Like many other JRPG series, the Tales Of series seems to have grown in popularity in recent years. Both 2016’s Tales Of Berseria and 2021’s Tales Of Arise had charming worlds and striking combat, and the latter was among our favorite games in the genre.

Now the series is taking over another recent JRPG trend: remakes and remasters. Tales Of Graces f Remastered, an improved version of the 2009 game, is now available.

Like Final Fantasy, entries in the Tales Of series tend to stand alone, united by style and a high level of fantasy. So you don’t need to have played any other game in the series to jump into Tales Of Graces, which takes place in the up-to-date world of Ephinea and features up-to-date characters, including main character Asbel Lhant.

Originally released on the Wii in 2009, it received a featherlight remaster with some quality of life features in the PlayStation 3 port called Tales Of Graces f in 2010. An English version followed two years later.

This remastered version adds further quality of life improvements such as destination markers and the ability to turn off enemy encounters as you travel around the world. It also includes post-script DLC, originally added in the PS3 version.

Should you play this game instead of similar recent remakes and remasters like Star Ocean The Second Story R, Dragon Quest III HD-2D, Romancing SaGa 2 or Persona 3 Reload? Should you keep your appetite for next week’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth or March’s Suikoden I&II HD Remaster? I’m asking honestly. Someone good at economics will lend a hand me, all these games take a million hours and my family is dying. I never even got around to trying the latest Tales Of game, even though genre expert Nadia Oxford said it sounded invigorating in her Tales Of Arise review.

You will find Tales Of Graces f Remastered on the website on Steam for £35/€40/$40.
