Nintendo will allow 2 owners to switch to setting, which stops charging the system battery when it reaches “about 90%” as part of the effort of maintaining the life of the system battery. Nintendo revealed a novel function in its Nintendo Today application on Monday.
“Nintendo said that the Nintendo Switch 2 system stops charging when it reaches about 90% of the remaining battery” with the setting enabled. “Cargo stop at about 90% reduces the deterioration of the battery.” Nintendo added: “If” stop charging about 90%”, the charging speed will slow down by about 90%”.
The function can be enabled from the main interface of switch 2 and selecting system settings> System> Stop charging about 90%.
Similar options are available on smartphones, tablets and laptops, allowing users to limit the maximum load on lithium-ion batteries, usually at 80-85%to extend the battery life. The valve tests a similar steam deck function in beta client update. “Limiting the charging limit to 80% can be beneficial for long -term battery health”, ” Valve said in the notes of patches last week. “This may be useful if your steam deck is constantly charged (i.e. dock) or the battery is rarely exhausted.”
The owners of Switch 2 will probably find themselves in a situation where they describe whether they play their dock and connected to television, or play enough not to exhaust the battery.
