Literally every Sony Spider-Verse action movie without Spider-Man has been downright crap, with the exception of the Venom trilogy (those fall into the “so bad but good” category), and I don’t see any reason why Kraven would be any different. It’s not that Sony and the team didn’t try to convince people to watch it and say it was good, its director actually asked potential viewers to give it a chance, and the first eight minutes of the likely release were made available for free on the Internet in an effort to increasing ticket sales. And now, in a recent interview with GamesRadarlead actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson tried to present the film as something more rounded, with a bit of heart underneath the violence.

“I think there is a real family drama at the heart of this story. We see these two boys growing up in a very toxic environment,” Taylor-Johnson said. “Their father is a Russian gangster, the head of this gang, and he ultimately wants to hand over the business.” Although Taylor-Johnson’s character, Sergei, aka Kraven, isn’t really interested in taking over his father’s profession, which, as the actor explains, “kind of sends my character on his journey to becoming a vigilante and his path to becoming a villain.” ”

Director JC Chandor also participated in the same interview and noted that the film’s R rating allowed them to “do some things”. The director explains: “It’s a story about mental illness.
