At this point, we all know that Capcom is capable of making amazing action games. In fact, based on recent experience, it is undoubtedly one of the best in the industry. So this begs the question: why do people seem to be sleeping in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess? Set to launch in just a month on July 19, it seems like a brand fresh IP from the legendary developer is slipping under the radar.
OK, so it’s not Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry or Dragon’s Dogma, but yes Is Capcom – and the experience from the playable demo at Summer Game Fest was really positive. Some are calling Kunitsu-Gami one of the best titles they’ve played at Geoff Keighley’s event, which is earnest praise. Others are simply convinced that Capcom has another banger on its hands.
We’ve collected a few of these previews below, including our own that we posted earlier this week.
“Capcom has done a great job creating its long-established franchises, but it’s refreshing to see the publisher take a chance on some completely fresh ideas as well. One such example is Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, something we’ve been intrigued by since its debut trailer last year. After some time to get to know him, we can now say that his unique combination of strategy and action works and has a lot of potential.
“While Monster Hunter Wilds may not be released until next year, Capcom will be releasing another amazing-looking game very soon. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess impressed me with its Summer Game Fest 2024 trailer, and after seeing the hands-on content in this game, I’m even more in love.”
“After the fun Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, suddenly became one of my most anticipated games of the year: a fascinating combination of a tower defense game with a twist – completely unlike anything you’ve ever seen from Capcom. It’s a sleeper hit in the making.”
“Our experience shows this Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddesswith its combination of action, tower defense and real-time strategy elements, it has the potential to become one of Capcom’s next big franchises.”
“When I arrived at the Capcom building during the Summer Game Fest Play Days, my eyes were immediately drawn to the row of gaming stations set up for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. I have been very interested in the game since its release, the moment I first saw it and couldn’t wait to start playing, I played non-stop for almost an hour until the staff told me I was out of time and I realized I had spent the entire demonstration period. in one match.”
