Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may be almost finished, but Goat Simulator 3 is taking over the baton of open-world superhero antics

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, while flawed in its development, wasn’t entirely terrible, and even ended up with four seasons of completely free content upon launch. Now, in a rather fun twist, Goat Simulator 3 promises much of the same, but less complicated.

Okay, maybe both games are almost similar, but they both offer super-powered fun through cities doomed to destruction. However, in the case of Goat Simulator 3, I’m pretty sure it’s the players who are supposed to cause all the chaos, not the supervillain’s colorful goons.

Announced today, December 12, by Coffee Stain, The Super Duper Pack DLC for Goat Simulator 3 is now available along with a free update that allows players to save “up to 50 unique loadouts in the customization menu.” Before we get into the details, watch the trailer below:

The Super Duper Pack DLC costs £6.69/$7.99 at the time of writing. It includes “20 new tools, 6 with skills, 6 new instincts and 2 new playable goats.” As you can see in the trailer, there are also a number of different “settings” that present the playable goats as various superhero archetypes, although I must admit that most of them look pretty villainous. Is that a robot goat? What about a goat made of rocks? One doesn’t even look like a goat, but is simply a two-legged tree trunk creature! I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking at here, but it looks a lot more inspired than a DC-style looter shooter or whatever the hell Gotham Knights was.

In any case, Goat Simulator 3 seems to have been quite a success since its release in behind schedule 2022, with a release on Steam earlier this year. While the original game felt like nothing more than an over-the-top joke in my humble opinion, Goat Simulator 3 actually has a lot to offer and feels like the perfect video game to encourage a non-gamer to play something before moving on to more solemn matters. Plus, there are some nippy DLCs this year.

Cheap potshots aside, I also have to admit that I’m kind of tempted by the likely final season of Suicide Squad because Stroke of death this is definitely the coolest addition to the game after launch. However, he is no cooler than a demon goat.
