Stray Cat Falling is a much less sophisticated version of the game Suika

Published:

  • Stray Cat Falling is a novel suika game available on Android and iOS
  • The game features physics-driven, blob-like cats and levels full of objects
  • Suikas-style games have seen a surge in popularity following the recent release of the game of the same name

Whether it’s MMORPGs, shooters, RPGs, or strategy games, the humble cat somehow slips into them all. But if you’re looking to see where these feline companions will appear next, you might be surprised to see these amorphous blobs of fur falling into the puzzle jar in today’s Stray Cat Falling.

While Suika Game wasn’t the first game to apply the general format, it’s one that could be said to have codified it. In elementary terms, it’s a bit like Tetris or a match-3 puzzle game. Your goal is to drop similarly colored objects onto each other, causing them to combine and create larger (and therefore more valuable) objects.

By creating cascades you can score the most points with the least amount of effort while preventing objects from overflowing.

But Stray Cats Falling goes a step further than most Suika Game clones by actually improving and changing the game’s formula. For one, you lose cats, but more importantly, the physics are more crucial, as each level has additional obstacles that your amorphous, physics-based cats are prone to catching.
