We’ve been distracted by Gamescom, a few game releases, the rapid decline of the British summer. Or I assume so, because why else wouldn’t we have already posted about Steam Rhythm Fest, which started on Monday and runs until August 26th at 10am PST/6pm UK*.
*Summer time in the UK is rapidly shortening.
Like all Steam festivals, this one also offers a collection discounts and demos on a given topic. Trombone Champ? 65% off. Crypt Of The Necrodancer? Cheaper than the cost of a harmonica. Rhythm Doctor? Only 10% off, but worth every penny.
As for the demo, you can try out Rift Of The Necrodancer, which ditches the original game’s dungeon-crawling for Guitar Hero-style musical combat. You can also try out Bits & Bops, which looks like it’ll run solidly in Rhythm Heaven mode.
Otherwise, I’d say there’s less overlap than usual between unreleased games and those that have demos, but there’s still plenty to play that I bet you haven’t played or heard of before. Like Robobeat, which I passed by but impressed Nic when it released in May.
On the VR side, you’ll also find a demo for the upcoming Metal: Hellsinger VR. The full game received a release date last week, on October 3rd.
