Stardew Valley console and mobile update 1.6 finally has a release date

Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe, has finally announced the hotly anticipated release date for Update 1.6 on consoles and mobile devices.

The creator of a farm life simulation game that sold 30 million copies said in: tweet this version 1.6 hits consoles and mobile devices on November 4, 2024. Applies to all console and mobile versions of the game, including the Nintendo Switch version, and includes the 1.6.9 update.

Further on tweetConcernedApe said that after the release of version 1.6, console and mobile players will still be able to experience almost everything modern thanks to their existing save, “but if you are interested in starting a new farm, it would be ideal to start over.”

“For example, some new things are different in the first year than in the second year plus,” ConcernedApe continued. “Besides, it’s nice to start a new farm, right?”

Last month, ConcernedApe said that ports of version 1.6 to consoles and mobile devices were proving problematic – so much so that it hasn’t worked on another game “in a long time.”

Tweeting on the weekendConcernedApe explained: “I have always released on PC first because it is a sort of ‘beta test’ to check for any critical bugs (e.g. causing saves to be corrupted), which is a much bigger problem on consoles because they can” they won’t be patched that quickly.
