Star Wars: Hunters confirmed for PC via Steam Early Access in 2025

Zynga has announced plans to release Star Wars: Hunters on PC via Steam Early Access in 2025.

Star Wars: Hunters is a free-to-play team-based battle arena game that was released in June for Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android. IGN’s review of Star Wars: Hunters gave it a 7/10. We said, “The carefree PvP fun of Star Wars: Hunters is like partying on the Death Star: it’s impressive for a while, but it’s probably not a place you’ll want to hang out for very long.”

Take-Two-owned Zynga is best known for its mobile games FarmVille, Words with Friends and CSR Racing, but with Star Wars: Hunters it has expanded to consoles for the first time. Similarly, Star Wars: Hunters, developed by his development studio NaturalMotion, is the first Zynga-published game to be released on PC.

The PC version features higher texture and shadow resolution, higher rendering quality, and a high-detail PC layer on select battlefields, Zynga said. Keyboard, mouse and wireless controller support will be added, and players will also be able to exploit key bindings.

“The success of Star Wars: Hunters on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch led to our decision to expand the game to PC,” commented Yaron Leyvan, executive vice president of gaming at Zynga. “This is something our fan community has been asking for and we are very excited to welcome even more players to Vespaara. This moment also marks a milestone for Zynga as we are making one of our games available on PC for the first time.

Zynga’s press release did not mention Star Wars: Hunters, which will be released on other consoles such as Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5. Players will be able to preview the PC version in advance and support test it by signing up for upcoming closed beta. Expect more details soon.

It’s a busy time in the Star Wars video game world, with many significant projects in the works. Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi 3, Quantic Dream’s Star Wars Eclipse, and Amy Hennig’s untitled Star Wars game are just three of the games coming out in the coming years.
