Stalker 2: Heart Of Chernobyl Delayed Again, Premiere In November

Published:

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has suffered another delay. The highly anticipated post-apocalyptic shooter was supposed to arrive on September 5, but will now be released on November 20 to give developer GSC Game World more time to work out technical issues.

Additionally, the studio announced that it will release its first Developer Deep Dive video to provide a comprehensive behind-the-scenes look at the game. The video will feature recent gameplay footage, world and location walkthroughs, a full story quest walkthrough, and developer interviews. It is being created in partnership with Xbox and will premiere on August 12.

The delay marks another bump in the road for STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl. It was officially unveiled in 2020 after years of teasers at the Xbox Games Showcase, but has faced obstacles along the way, including criticism for canceled plans to implement NFTs. The biggest obstacle was the Russian invasion of Ukraine, where GSC Game World is headquartered, which halted development and forced the team to relocate to Prague, Czech Republic (though some team members actively fought and unfortunately he died in war). Despite all this, the game was made, and we even played it at this year’s Summer Game Fest.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC on November 20. It will launch on day one on Xbox Game Pass. If nothing else, the delay will give players more time to catch up on the Xbox re-releases of the original games that came out earlier this year.
