Square Enix announces Octopath Traveller 0 for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

In the Octopath Traveller series there is a up-to-date entry for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, first announced in today’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. The game will be launched for all platforms on December 4, 2025.

Octopath Traveller 0 will allow players to create a configurable character for the first time and set off on a “restoring journey” after burning the hometown of Wishvale.

The film material shown in today’s debut trailer contains the usual visual style of the HD-2D series, with Turks battles and the possibility of rebuilding Wishvale by placing and designing houses and other buildings. The game’s press message is promised by over 30 members of the recruitment parties and the return of the series “Break & Boost Battle System.

If the idea of the prequel from the octopus sounds familiar, it is because this game contains story elements with Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, free spin-off for smartphones, published in 2020 in Japan and more in 2022.

In the post on the Square Enix blog he said that while Octopath Traveller 0 was “inspired by feature elements and ideas for the gameplay from this game”, he was also designed with the name as “a full -fledged console and RPG on a computer with an additional narrative content, fresh story stories, full acting and the above -mentioned function of building the city.

“The name Octopath Traveller 0 transmits the idea that you are taking your own journey,” said producer Hirohito Suzuki in a statement. “Regardless of whether you played the first game in the series, Octopath Traveller: Champions of the Continent, or we didn’t even packed this game with original experiences that can enjoy anyone! I can’t wait for players to experience this new story for themselves.”

The first Square Enix traveler originally launched Nintendo Switch in 2018, before he finally launched other platforms in the coming years. Meanwhile, Octopath Traveller 2 arrived until 2023.

In today’s Square Enix presentation, the second HD-2D title, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, which looks like a completely up-to-date RPG of the action.
