Spray painting simulator announced, PowerWash simulator is boiling

After the success of PowerWash Simulator, it was inevitable. Whitethorn Games and North Star Video Games released a rival: Spray Paint Simulator. In it, you whip out your spray painter and “shhhh” different colors of paint on different surfaces. For some reason, the universe this takes place in doesn’t seem to value paintbrushes or those roll-up mops. “No,” he says, kicking your paintbrush into the sun. “Spray or don’t.”

In Spray Paint Simulator, you play as a disembodied hand with a spray gun, a hero who must save the citizens of Splatterville from the evil influence of raw, undecorated surfaces. In the story mode, you have to paint, completing orders for clients to expand your painting business. Similar to PowerWash Sim, you can upgrade your “tools, vehicles and equipment” and “use a variety of ladders and scaffolding” to reach hard-to-reach places.

The creators want this to be a stress-free experience, with “no time limits” or “complex game mechanics.” There’s also a Free Spray mode to support your artistic endeavors, if you want to explore the entire town of Splatterville and paint however you want. Again, this is all from the same school as PowerWash Sim, which is a very meditative experience.

Alice Bell (RPS in the room) loved PowerWash Sim, especially the fact that there are some crazy places to spotless up and a ton of stories to back it up. Hopefully Spray Paint Simulator takes a similarly fun approach to your Paint Person career path. Or fully embraces the PowerWash Simulator competition in the form of cross-game PVP, as Edwin notes in The Maw.

Spray Paint Simulator doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s set to release on PC via Couple in 2025.
