Games 1047 Splitgate 2 Teworker confirmed the undisclosed number of dismissals, and the co -founders of the studio decide to not receive a salary when they are intended to reverse.
The free game “Halo of Portals” fired under the cloud after the co -founder and director Ian Proulx started on the summer stage of a hat game with the inscription “Make fps great again”. During the speech, Proulx called Call of Duty in what was considered a marketing blunder.
After starting Splinggate 2, he did it in the Royale battle mode and a strongly criticized 145 USD microtransactions package. Splinggate 2 recorded the peak number of simultaneous players at the level of 25 785 on Steam, well below 67,724 co -creating Splitgate players. Steam user reviews remain in “Mixed”.
Of course, steam statistics do not paint the whole image, taking into account Splitgate 2 launched on both consoles and PCs. Indeed, 1047 games said that Splitgate 2 has over 2.5 million players. But apparently things were not as good as the studio was hoping. In an interview with IGN, shortly after launching, Proulx said that he was “surprised” by the reaction, admitting “we did not expect that it would be as controversial as it was and we did not intend to be.”
Now 1047 games have suffered exemptions, which he characterized as a “petite group” of staff on the post LinkedIn. Also in the post there was confirmation that co -founders of Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian decided not to receive remuneration because the studio aims to improve the game.
Here is a full statement:
Today we parted with a small group of priced members of the 1047 games team. We are still improving the impressions of the Splitgate 2 game in response to the opinions of community and redirect resources to build the best game for our players. We are sorry that our teammates are leaving and we are actively working on providing them with new opportunities. In addition, our co -founders Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian decided not to receive a salary when we close to provide the next phase of the project. Thank you to those who built next to us – we are sorry to say goodbye and would not be here without you.
For anyone who plays in Splitgate 2, we still work hard to provide more things that we know you will love. We are involved in building this game in the long run.
While 1047 did not specify how many were released, or who exactly, many key employees announced their departure on social platforms. Meanwhile, Splinggate 2 had a 24-hour number of concurrent players of 10 059 on Steam, with 4437 players on the Valve platform at the time of publication of this article.
Splinggate 2 secured 7/10 in the IGN review. We said: “Splitgate 2 is a decent successor to the original that is expanding on it, but never really exceeds him.”
