Spider-Verse fans are hoping that the huge neon sign that has appeared in New York City is evidence of an upcoming announcement, but I only feel sorry for the indigent tenants stuck behind it

Some Spider-Verse fans have spotted a huge, venerable neon sign the size of an apartment building in New York City, and a few of them believe it may be related to the upcoming third film.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was originally scheduled to premiere in March of this year, partly due to last year’s strikes, but despite some rumors the release has been pushed back until 2027, overall production appears to be moving forward. There hasn’t been any official announcement on the sequel since its delay, but yesterday some Spider-Man fans walking around Chelsea, New York, noticed that there was a huge neon sign depicting Miles Morales’ spider from Across the Spider-Verse outside what looks like an apartment building , leading some to speculate that an announcement is imminent.

A photo of the sign was shared on the Spider-Man subreddit, some joked that it might just be the owner of the building, showing their love for the character, but others pointed out that Gwen Stacy in Across the Spider is where Gwen Stacy lives – Verse. This of course raises even more eyebrows among some people, but it seems like a rather strange way to do some promotion for the third film, because first of all, it seems that this building is actually used by the people who live there, so I think: I’m not sure they would like it would happen if he was stuck to a giant neon sign all night long, and secondly, it’s right next to a Latter-day Saints church, which I’m guessing won’t be a large fan of the sign either for similar reasons.

Not much is known about Beyond at the moment other than that it will pick up where the previous film’s juicy cliffhanger left off and that it will be completely AI-free, but for now you’ll just have to wait to see more, check out the trailer. And if you’re in New York, you can always look for this sign for pennies.
