He basically argues that thanks to the PS5 generation, the Japanese giant pushed players to the digital ecosystem, in which he has a monopoly on the sale of software through the store of PS.

At this point, it is worth noting that although only digital consoles have become more common in the last few years, you can still buy PS5 with disks. In addition, optional accessories for drive drive for systems that are not equipped with one included.

Massaschade & Consumer’s Preven Lucia Melcherts said Foundation:

“Many people have noticed that they are increasingly pushed on the” only digital “console since the latest generation of PS5. These consoles work only from digital games, not physical records. However, economic research shows that consumers pay an average of 47% more for the digital version of the game compared to the identical physical copy-that Sony distribution costs are much lower.

In addition to the clients affecting customers, the closed Sony ecosystem limits the commercial freedom of developers. As far as we understand this, independent developers and external publishers can value their products, although planned discounts must be in line with promotional campaigns in the PS store.

Either way, Stichting Massaschade & Consumer is looking for damage in the Netherlands up to EUR 435 million (~ 508 million dollars), with the first interrogation that will take place this month.

To be forthright, we are not sure how far it will take care of. Considering this Is Still completely possible purchases of physical games on PS5, we are not convinced that setting up this case has real weight.
