SEGA has teamed up with Limited Run to create a special collector’s edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations, the upcoming remaster of the beloved platformer, with the goal of stoking nostalgia among fans. With a sturdy focus on the Dreamcast, it’s been a while since we’ve seen something this perfectly aimed at editor Sammy Barker.
Announced today, the Collector’s Edition is a premium physical version that comes with a ton of frigid extras. In addition to the game itself (a boxed copy, not a digital code), you’ll get the following:
- Sonic X Shadow Generations Art Book
- Official soundtrack
- Sonic & Shadow Dreamcast Statue
- Dreamcast keepsake jewelry case
- StalBook
- Chao figurines
- Sonic, Shadow and Classic Sonic Shoe Keychain
- Individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity
The main attraction is of course this huge statue of Sonic and Shadow, standing atop a model of SEGA’s latest console (where Shadow debuted in Sonic Adventure 2). The inclusion of the Dreamcast Jewel Case is also a great touch, and we love the shoe keychain. If you’re up for it, this collector’s edition will cost you $249.99.
Pre-orders are available now and will end on October 6. The disc will ship between October 25 and November 8, while the rest of the Collector’s Edition won’t ship until July 2025.
