It’s shaping up to be a busy day for gaming news, as Sony just announced its latest State of Play report, which will be released on Tuesday.
As for what could happen with Sonic Central, Sega could always announce fresh projects, but there are a few things in the pipeline that we already know about. The most immediate is the upcoming release of Sonic x Shadow Generations, an enhanced version of 2011’s Sonic Generations with fresh standalone content featuring Shadow the Hedgehog. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on October 25.
Meanwhile, Sonic Rumble, a fresh Fall Guys-style battle royale game, is set to release on iOS and Android this winter.
And while the focus will likely be on the games, there’s also the burgeoning Sonic Cinematic Universe to think about. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hits theaters on December 20, and Paramount Pictures finally revealed the first trailer for the latest installment in the live-action franchise earlier this month, featuring the first footage of Keanu Reeves as Shadow, something fans have been eagerly awaiting.
Tomorrow on Sonic Central there will be a live stream of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie Cramp AND YouTube channels. To whet your appetite in the meantime, check out our Sonic x Shadow Generations interview with Sega from gamescom.
