Some fans of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are absolutely annoyed that the game will not receive any DLC. Insomniac Games never explicitly announced any additional content for the game, but without going into detail about the stolen information, the large hack that hit the developer did mention plans for post-release support. These plans obviously changed as it was announced that he was leaving the game.

We’ve seen some claims on social media that the sequel feels unfinished as a result, as plot threads emerge that won’t be resolved until the inevitable Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 – or a Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales-style spin-off Marvel, like the oft-touted Marvel’s Spider-Man: Venom.

Honestly, the reaction surprised us a bit. Although the original Marvel’s Spider-Man received post-release DLC as part of the trilogy The city that never sleeps episodes, we didn’t rate them particularly highly here Press squarebecause in our opinion they did very little to significantly advance the story or established gameplay formula.

While we felt the core experience of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was familiar, we never felt hampered by the experience and as a result we rated it a solid 8/10. Personally, with restricted resources and bloated development cycles, we’d rather see Insomniac Games focus their attention on Marvel’s Wolverine and whatever comes next for Spider-Man and others.
