The Lake View Hotel in Silent Hill 2 is, honestly, a bit of respite from the terror of Toluca Prison and the Labyrinth. Solving the Music Box puzzle in the Lake View Hotel lobby may seem a bit confusing at first due to the various knobs and keys you can interact with, but once you know what your goal is, it’ll be a walk in the park. Solving the puzzle from Silent Hill 2 Music Box
To solve the Music Box puzzle in the Lake View Hotel in Silent Hill 2, you must first find and place three figures. These figures are collected as part of various puzzles scattered around the hotel and you will find them in the following areas:
- Snow White figurine – in room 201, after solving the puzzle with the broken mirror in room 202.
- Cinderella figurine – inside the fireplace of the Conference Room.
- Little Mermaid figurine – inside Venus’ tear bar.
Once you have collected all three figures, place Snow White in the lower left corner, place the Little Mermaid in the top space, and Cinderella in the last remaining space.
You then need to turn the four knobs here to create a path for each figure to the nearest door. It’s simply a matter of turning the knobs until the tracks line up with each other, but make sure they lead to nearby doors and not any dead ends.
When you’re ready to test the tracks, interact with the button in the lower right corner. If the figures reach the door, three rows and three keys will be shown.
Your next task will be to read three poems that will remind you of fairy tales related to figurines. You then need to rotate each key several times, which reveals a row. There are numbers mentioned here – except for the Hard difficulty level – that will give you an idea of how many times you need to turn the key.
On the standard puzzle difficulty level, the lines read as follows:
- What started with three will soon regret, Seven good souls, Opened the door.
- Turning one into two, Far away she will wander, But love fiveI would take her back home.
- Ridiculed by the two, she worked demanding to leave one behind, she found a way.
On the Hard Puzzle difficulty level, the poems are missing numbers but have a matching theme; loneliness, which can be compared to number one.
Depending on the selected puzzle difficulty level, the number of turns of each key is as follows:
- Light puzzle difficulty: 7, 2, 1
- Standard puzzle difficulty level: 7, 5, 1
- Puzzle difficulty: 1, 1, 1
After doing this, you will receive the key to corridor 3F and you will finally be able to enter room 312.
