Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on December 17, and will launch on the same day as the modern Fuddler’s Courtship DLC.
Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, released earlier this year, is a wonderful adaptation of Tove Jansson’s enduring world and characters. Instead of following the Moomins themselves, we instead play as the carefree wanderer Snufkin, returning to Moominvalley in the spring, just as the Moomins awaken from their winter hibernation, only to discover that everything has changed and that her best friend, Moomin, missing. What was once an idyllic natural area has been cleared, drained and transformed into more structured parks in places. We can’t have that now, can we?
Whether you’re modern to the game on PS5 and Xbox, or returning to it on Switch and PC, Fuddler’s Courtship will add a modern, pocket-sized adventure to the game by moving the season to fall and changing the color palette to match. This is a tale of romance, as Fuddler needs the support of Snufkin and Moomin to distract him from his pre-winter camping trip with a modern, chaotically romantic trip.
Either way, it’s a lovely game and adaptation.
