Rebellion announced that Sniper Elite: Resistance will be released on January 30, 2025, and on that day it will appear on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
As is the tradition of the series, those who pre-order will receive additional content in the form of the Target Führer mission, where you can go out and try to assassinate Hitler. They will also receive more weapon skins and the Karabiner 98 rifle.
Additionally, there is a Deluxe Edition of the game that will include a season pass with DLC content coming later this year. By pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition, players will also receive the M1911 pistol and two days of early access.
In Sniper Elite: Resistance, we see Karl Fairburne’s long-time partner, Harry Hawker, step into the spotlight as this SOE agent goes on a mission behind enemy lines to aid the French Resistance.
You can expect this to be an extension of Sniper Elite 5’s comprehensive stealth sniper gameplay, with gigantic open levels that give you plenty of options to undertake missions, optional kill list objectives, multiple infiltration and extraction points, and some side missions to complete as well. These can come in the form of fresh Propaganda Missions, which can be found and triggered by noticing propaganda posters in levels, which then take you to a mini-mission where you play as a Resistance fighter.
This year at Gamescom we tackled Sniper Elite: Resistance, saying: “Sniper Elite has become something of comfort food in stealth action games over the last decade, and has really settled into its sandbox levels and mission structure in the last few games. Sniper Elite: Resistance doesn’t want to revolutionize the series, but to give you a new campaign, some new twists and tweaks to the formula, and let you just settle in with a glass of good red wine – to go with all the red you’ll spill in the game.”
