Rapper Skrill says his viral hit Doot Doot (6 7) is trending Grand Theft Auto 6.
Soundtrack and radio broadcasts in GTA games have long been a thing cultural phenomenonstimulating many musical careers. However, in this case, the song in question is already a megahit that has inspired a global meme.
The Skrill 6 7 network blew up on TikTok and Instagram earlier this year. It’s a slang term referring to gun violence, but it became popular when it started appearing in clips about basketball players like LaMelo Ball, who is 6-foot-10. It then went viral when a boy known as the 67 Kid used it in a meme, and now kids all over the world are saying it.
We’re talking about the game next Matt and Shane’s Secret PodcastSkrilla told the hosts (thanks, Dexerto): “I’m waiting for GTA 6 to come out… 6 7 is there too. Yes, 6 7 is there. I’ll be myself there and play my own music.”
Rockstar has not yet announced any songs that will appear in GTA 6, and it will undoubtedly happen until the game is ready. But at least Skrill seems confident that 6 7 is there, and you’d like to think he would know.
This is not the first time that talk about a GTA 6 song has appeared on the Internet. Back in July, Travis Scott’s music video for “2000 Excursion” caused a stir when fans noticed what appeared to be a reference to GTA 6. This sparked speculation that Travis Scott was going to appear in GTA 6 in some way, either on his own radio station (like the stars did in previous GTA games) or as a character we see in the game.
Meanwhile, Faheem Rashad Najm, better known as singer-songwriter T-Pain, has confirmed that he is co-developing GTA 6 (it appears that Rockstar, in the process of bringing T-Pain on board, asked him to stop roleplaying on NoPixel, the popular GTA 5 roleplaying server that runs on third-party servers).
Of course, we know at least one such band habit appear in the game. The founder of British synth-pop band Heaven 17 claimed Rockstar offered the three authors of the hit song Temptation $7,500 each to utilize it in Grand Theft Auto 6 – an amount they categorically refused. Founder Martyn Ware took to Twitter to tell Rockstar to “fuck you” after allegedly receiving what he called an “extremely low” offer to utilize the classic 1980s game Temptation in GTA 6.
Work on GTA 6 began “in earnest” in 2020 after success Red Dead Redemption 2. It was originally supposed to be released in 2025, but it encountered grave problems high-profile delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. Rockstar Games co-founder and author of almost every Grand Theft Auto game released to date, Dan Houser, confirmed this wasn’t involved in GTA 6, but insisted the game’s story would be “great” even though “it won’t be a story I wrote or a set of characters I developed.”
