Silent Hill-inspired horror game Post Trauma is coming out in October

With the potential to be a very promising indie horror game, After the trauma aims to keep the classic tropes of the genre alive and well. With twisted visuals not dissimilar to what we know from Silent HillThis delicious-looking title will be adorning our consoles and computers in October.

October 29th to be exact. As is always the case with horror games, the Halloween period is usually a busy time for both AAA and more independent studios. This is definitely a game to keep an eye out for when it releases on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.

Wearing his influence very clearly on his sleeves, After the trauma you play as Roman, a “middle-aged train conductor trapped in a terrifying, twisted reality.” The trailer above is pure nightmare fuel, connecting the combat with “the unspeakable horrors that lurk in this menacing environment.”

Pre-traumatic

The game has been in development for a few years now. I had the opportunity to play a very early demo a while back and was very impressed with what I saw. Even then it was a visual feast that unfortunately burdened my needy laptop. However, that is my laptop’s fault, not the game’s.

It’s great that indie horror is still growing in an increasingly hostile and competitive industry. Of course, there will always be some shade from the likes of Resident Evilnot to mention the upcoming remake Silent Hill 2 (recent announcements suggest that the game will be worth waiting for).

Smaller teams that are in it for the passion and still make a splash in the genre. Same thing can be said for other genres. Independent studios are the ball bearings in a video game jar that is filled to the brim with golf balls from the mainstream industry. God, that was weird.
