The Silent Hill 2 remake will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 for a year, Sony has revealed.
As he noticed Eurogamera recent trailer has been released on PlayStation YouTube Channel shows the highly anticipated Bloober remake will not release on “other formats” until October 8, 2025. Silent Hill 2 will release on PC and PS5 on October 8, 2024.
While “other formats” is a vague term, it undoubtedly includes Xbox consoles (Xbox Series X and S) and potentially Nintendo’s next-gen console, dubbed the Switch 2. The Silent Hill 2 remake will, of course, be playable on the upcoming PS5 Pro console, which launches on November 7.
Sony’s partnership with Konami on Silent Hill 2 resulted in not only a year of console exclusivity, but also full support for DualSense features, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a active featherlight bar that displays the health of protagonist James.
Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the 2001 psychological horror classic. Players reunite with James Sunderland after receiving a mysterious letter from his deceased wife, Mary, and search for clues in the terrifying town of the same name, which is of course teeming with nightmarish monsters.
Earlier this month, the first 90 minutes of the Silent Hill 2 remake surfaced online, showing off the beginning of the game. The first 90 minutes will cover just under 10% of Silent Hill 2, according to Bloober Team’s estimates, as It was stated that players can complete the game in “around 16 to 18 hours.”
This boost in the game’s original length will involve a number of gameplay changes, but apparently nothing about the plotbecause Bloober stubbornly insists that he will not change any of the original game’s storylines.
