What is Civilization VII?

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is the latest installment in the strategy game series that began in 1991. Developed by Firaxis, the game lets you choose a historical leader to lead your people to global domination. You can build your city, populate it with architectural wonders, and expand your dominion through conquest or cooperation with neighboring civilizations.

You have a lot of freedom in how you direct the progression of your people. You can do it in a way that is historically exact, or you can deviate from the story in the textbooks to forge a path that is entirely your own.

The biggest novel thing about Civ 7 is that you don’t play as one civilization from start to finish. Instead, you choose a novel civilization with each playthrough to play in each of the three eras: Ancient, Exploration, and Modern. The only thing that stays with you throughout the game is your chosen leader.
