It caused a few moments when it was obvious that I would have a choice that I can’t really do.
For example, during the main mission of “The Perfect Gift”, as Naoe, you must choose from three possible gifts to present yourself to someone essential (leaving them unidentified here for the spoiler’s purposes). When he doesn’t play in Canon mode, this is the choice.

I did not choose this gift myself, although if I had such an option, I would choose the one that Naoe finished (old vats of bamboo tea). Instead, I could watch him choose a gift, and then, when I went forward in the task line, I watched how the recipient depicts her.
Similarly, there were times when Assassin’s Creed Shadows It presents a choice, but it’s really just an illusion. I don’t feel that I “miss” anything because I chose to play in Canon mode, but if you are a person who really liked the dialogue options Odyssey AND ValhallaYou shouldn’t activate him. On the other hand, if you prefer to see how history is playing, just like in Early Assassin’s Creed Games (and in 2023 Mirage), then Canon mode is the right choice for you.
