Yu Suzuki and the publisher inin Games announced Shenmue 3 improved on Gamescom 2025. This is described as “the most sophisticated version of the epic travel of Ryo Hazuki” and will see the release of Action Adventure 2019 on novel platforms with novel functions and improved visual elements.
The improved version is “more lively, more responsive and more accessible than ever, guided by the vision of Yu Suzuki,” said Inin Games. Expect “sharper” textures, faster charging times and “smoother” gameplay. The NPC density, the classic camera mode inspired by Shenmue 1 and 2 and various gameplay corrections were also increased.
Shenmue III Enhanced will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo (a specific Nintendo platform is mentioned as TBD, so it is not clear whether it is exclusive or non -exclusive Switch 2).
There are no screenshots or movies yet, but we know that the owners of the original Shenmue 3 on PS4 and PC will receive an update path to Enhanced Edition, and details soon soon.
Shenmue 3 improved key improvements:
- Improved graphics and performance – sharper textures, richer details, faster charging times and smoother gameplay.
- Fileing 4K texture – sophisticated, more detailed environments and characters.
- Support for DLSS/FSR-Wysokie-quality shift in the amount without dedication of performance (only supported platforms).
- Increased NPC density – City Village Niaow feels more alive with more populated characters on the streets.
- Classic Camera mode – the optional perspective of the camera inspired by Shenmue I and II, next to a current view.
- Gameplay improvements – optional corrections of the strength system, restoration of health before fighting and reduced cash barriers for smoother progress.
- Improved interactions – intermittent and conversation interlude options, extended QTE time window for a more available game.
- Menu and UX improvements – improved navigation and helpful shopping alerts.
- First of all – you can switch all the main changes to keep your original impressions for purists.
Shenmue 3 became a reality after the record Kickstarter YS Net 2015, in which the fastest million dollars promised a crowdfound game.
